Portmarnock AFC's own Chris Burgess has won the Fingal Independent Monthly Sports Person Award for December 2017!!
Last Saturday night (January 20th 2018), at the gala presentation night in the Maldron Hotel Dublin Airport, Chris Burgess was announced as the winner of Fingal Independent Monthly Sports Person Award for December 2017.
The Fingal Independent briefly summarised Chris's achievement with the following:
"Portmarnock are arguably the most progressive club in the Leinster Senior League and they’re now holding their own in the top flight after earning a third successive promotion last May.
It’s been a massive team effort from Willie O’Leary’s charges, but every team needs a prolific marksman and it’s Chris Burgess who really stepped up to the plate. He netted some crucial goals on the way to becoming the club’s top scorer for the 2016/17 season - including two in the final-day victory over St John Bosco which confirmed their promotion to the Senior Division".
