U16B Kick off the season with a win
NDSL U16B Portmarnock AFC vs Clonee Utd
Portmarnock AFC NDSL 16B team kicked off their league season at home to Clonee Utd. on a breezy Sunday morning in Paddyshill.
While the home team had the better of the early exchanges Clonee took the lead against the run of play with virtually their only attack of the half, a speculative shot carried by the wind into the top corner giving the visitors a 1-0 lead at the break.
Portmarnock started the second half in determined mood and were awarded an early penalty which was dispatched by Jamie O'Hanlon to draw the home team level.
Further goals from Kipras Polionis and Kevin O'Reilly gave the scoreline a more realistic look as Portmarnock ran out 3-1 winners to begin the season on a winning note
