Result Portmarnock AFC 1- 2 Malahide United
Neighbours Malahide Utd were the visitors to Paddyshiil on Sunday morning for what was the second league game of the season with both sides having won their first.
The home side started well and should have taken an early lead but found the visiting keeper in good form.
Right on half time however Jamie O’Hanlon gave the keeper no chance with a direct free kick to give Portmarnock the lead.
Both sides had second half chances before a five minute spell in which the home team lost their shape allowed Malahide in to score twice.
Chances came and went for an equaliser with the post being struck twice and at least one legitimate shout for a penalty being waved away by the Referee.
A good open game of football in which a draw would have been a fair result left the visitors with the points but it is little more than a temporary setback for Portmarnock and
They will look forward to the return in Malahide later in the season with confidence.
