Match report in this weeks Fingal Independent on Portmarnock Seniors vs Bluebell United last Wednesday 18th April by Paul Byrne.
The Portmarnock team travelled to face Bluebell United short of three players "fresh from a magnificent victory away to Crumlin United the previous weekend." There was a daunting challenge facing the Porto lads with Bluebell United boasting "10 victories on the bounce and had won every single home game this season."
The opposition took an early lead, and Portmarnock equalised just before half time "as a Barry Caufield corner was headed home powerfully by Chris Burgess". Port took the lead in the second half with a well deserved goal with the score standing at 2-1 with 20 minutes to go.
With 15 minutes to go "O’Leary was dealt a setback as centre-back Riches had to be taken off with a head injury" and Bluebell equalised with 10 minutes to go. The winning goal came from the opposition with 5 minutes left on the clock.
