The sun was shining, the BBQ lit and the beers cooling… the 2018 Golf Classic was off to a good start, and the day hadn’t even begun yet. 19 teams descended on Malahide Golf Club ready to start their bank holiday weekend in the sun.
After fuelling up at the impressive Taco BBQ stand, the putting competition allowed the golfers the warm up and get into the swing of things. The Putting Competition was won by Ian Fitzpatrick, who was off to a good start for the day.
The results of the competition were as follows:
1st Place went to Brian Forrester’s team with 88 points
2nd Place went to Dublin Electrical Wholesaler Ltd (DEWL) with 84 points
3rd Place went to the PSLC team with 83 points
4th Place went to the Irish Life team with 81 points
Closest to Pin was awarded to Derek Downes (who has the lovely new golf shoes to prove it)
Longest Drive went to Sean Costello
