Another great performance from the first team against St.Mochta's in Sunday's final of the Tommy Clement's tournament at the AUL.
It was the 'Ports who struck first' in Sunday's 'high noon' game writes Dermot Clarke for the Herald Striker. Portmarnock scored in the 13th minute as Robert Gaul at the end line 'squared perfectly for Sam O'Connor who thumped home to give first blood'. 27 minutes in the Ports nearly made it 2-0 after 'Raoui Lassoyed and Conor Pepper had combined to set Kaito Akimodo up' but their efforts fell short as St.Mocha's keeper cleared from the goal line.
The game went straight to penalties to decide who would take home the cup. A narrow defeat brought end to a 'fantastic, close fought, Tommy Clements tournament'.
A successful pre season for the first team after a great result against Oxford United and another successful performance in last weekends Tommy Clement Cup at the AUL.
