Portmarnock AFC vs Home Farm
LSL SAT DIV 1A
Our LSL Saturday team kicked off their first league game against a very strong Home Farm in Mobhi Road. Managed by Brian Mc Cann and Simon Cash, the lads are in their third year in charge and are hoping for a good year from a young team, who are gaining great experience at this level.
Defensively, goalkeeper Dylan Fitzpatrick made three crucial saves to keep the sides level. Kevin Brady at center back had an outstanding game marshalling the defence to keep Home Farm at bay.
Alex Boylan created numerous chances for the away side, but the Home Farm keeper played his part in maintaining the stalemate. Ross Waters and Karl Bissett had three good chances each but were unlucky to convert.
In the 88th minute Home Farm won a free kick out side the box and this was converted and PAFC went down cruely to a 1-0 defeat. Simon Cash paid tribute to the team saying "we had good performance all round, we just need to take our chances".
