Senior Dvision Sunday : Portmarnock AFc 3 - 0 Bangor Celtic
Match report by Paul Byrne - The Fingal Independent
PORTMARNOCK maintained their 100% home record with a flawless 3-0 victory over Bangor Celtic as Willie O’leary’s side made it three wins from five this season.
The outstanding Kato Akomoto had a hand in all three goals, with his excellent delivery from the left causing Bangor Celtic problems all day long.
Porto came into the game on the back of two successive defeats and were looking to bounce back at Paddy’s Hill where they were two from two this season.
The hosts began well and took the lead after just three minutes after a good move which began in defence. Eric Whelan picked the ball up in his own half before finding Akomoto in space out on the left. Akomoto flicked a beautiful ‘around the corner’ pass to Sam O’connor who stroked the ball home to make it 1-0.
Porto thought they had doubled their lead five minutes later but were denied by the linesman who deemed Barry Caulfield was offside when he powered home a header from another Akomoto cross.
Akomoto was proving a real handful for the beleaguered Bangor defence and it was his cross which led to the second goal in the 22nd minute. The midfielder beat his man before swinging in a dangerous cross which was put into his own net by a Bangor defender.
