Portmarnock Youths 5 : 2 Donabate (cup 1st round)
Porto youths continued their fine early season form, negotiating a 5:2 cup win against tricky neighbors from up the coast - Donabate. In perfect football conditions Porto opened the score courtesy of mayhem created by a good cross into the box from Andy.
A second soon followed by a Danny B free kick after Harry S was fouled and a third followed when a cross from Ethan was touched in by Matthew. Just before half time the opposition got back into the game by a well placed free kick that gave Kian no chance.
After the break it was game on again, with both sides going for it knowing the next goal could be crucial . Luckily it fell to Porto thanks to a fine effort by Matthew. And I am not talking about his previous overhead attempt!
Alex and Tom ensured Porto were safe at the back, with Ryan and Ciaran directing the play in front . Good passing down the right between Ros and Matt , enabled Matt to get an inch in perfect cross that found Harry in the box, and H controlled it before powering home on the volley.
But the opposition were not for giving up and pulled one back to make it a tighter finish ,than the Porto faithful might have hoped for ..
