Portmarnock AFC Over 35’s advance to last 16 of the LFA Cup
Portmarnock AFC Over 35’s advanced into the last 16 of the LFA Cup with an impressive 1:0 home win against Cherry Orchard. David White with the all important match winner on the day.
Portmarnock were deserved winners restricting Cherry Orchard to very little clear cut chances while at the other end Portmarnock were very dangerous going forward and created the chances to win by more.
During spells in the game Cherry Orchard were very impressive in possession of the ball but Portmarnock’s back four were disciplined and well organised not allowing Cherry Orchard any space in the final 3rd and when called upon Ivan Sherlock was unbeatable in the Porto goal.
Portmarnock have been given a home tie in the last 16 to Newlands Castlepark FC which will take place on the 7th September. Please try and get up to support the lads on the day.
