At last passing football pays off for the 15 premier team with a 4-1 away win in the NDSL Premier/A league cup over Swords Celtic A. Having dominated the ball we went in at half time one down. However, lads persisted with their possession game and equalised with a 25 yard screamer into the top corner from skipper Adam Moran. Then a hat-trick in the last 20 minutes from Adeola Abass settled the result. His first, set up by an unselfish pass from strike partner Ross Waters and hammered home from 8 yards. His second, a fine header from a lovely cross by Adam Connell who was released down the right wing by a good pass from Sonny Kenny. Then after some neat passing between Eoghan Buckley, Sergio Ganaza and Zak Woods Oliver he was played in down the inside left channel and after powering past the full back he slotted past the keeper into the far corner.
For a team who have struggled in the top flight to get the results our football has deserved, it was great to see the lads stick to playing football and get rewarded for it. There were fine displays from 1 to 16 and too many to name individuals. We can enjoy the Christmas break and work to a great 2015.
