This game started with both teams tentatively trying to work each other out , with both teams doing some early sparring it was Portmarnock that delivered the first blow , with some quick interchanges portmarnock worked the ball to Sennan mc Keown out on the right , he cut inside and his cross cum shot was turned in at the far post by Hugh Duncan . From there Portmarnock got a foothold on the game and started to pass the ball around on the floor and it wasn't long before it was 2, Karl Redmond got himself on the ball and played a lovely pass to Josh Molloy who miss hit a tame shot which rolled through to the keeper who instead of picking it up miss kicked the ball straight back to Molloy who with the keeper off his line unleashed a super shot into the net from 20 yards . Portmarnock continued to play the ball around restricting Ardmore to long hopeful balls forward , the third came before half time after Harry Byrne showed great pace and desire to get to the ball after Molloy played him in one on one with the keeper , with Byrne getting to the ball first the keeper could only parry the ball and Kyle Murphy smashed the ball into the roof of the net just before the half time whistle to send portmarmock in three up at the break . The second half started much like the first and it took about ten minutes for it to kick into life but when it did Portmarnock went on a bit of a goal fest , they really started to play some lovely football with redmond , Molloy and mc Keown playing some lovely triangles to create lots of space and it wasn't long before no. 4 came with Fionn Coates turning the ball in from close range after a scramble , Josh Molloy soon after unleashed another 20 yarder into the top corner to make it five , then Daniel mc Evoy got in on the act from close range to make it 6 before Ross Byrne did much the same to make it 7 after another scramble in the Ardmore box . In all fairness to Ardmore they kept going forward looking for a goal and Joshua Kane came close on a few occasions and if it wasn't for some smart saves from the ever alert Alex Dunne and a well marshalled defence by David Hughes he would have got on the score sheet . No 8 came when man of the match Josh Molloy got fouled just outside the box and got up to smash the free kick straight into the top corner to complete his hat trick . Ross Byrne rounded off the scoring with no 9 right on the full time whistle for a great win for Portmarnock .
