"Our U10 B1 Sunday team kicked off their post- Christmas campaign with a hard fought 2 - 2 draw away to Terenure Rangers on Sunday 31st January.
Terenure had some strong kids on display, particularly impressive was the only girl on the pitch by the name of Joy who showed great speed and skill throughout. Disappointingly, the pitch was not the best with the grass quite long and it took our boys a while to settle into the game. At half-time, the score was 0-0 which you dont often see at this age group!
Terenure struck very early in the second half whilst our boys were still licking their fingers after Stephen's half-time oranges, the aforementioned Joy skipping through a few tackles to hammer home past the helpless Ryan Hughes.
But after that, the boys clicked into gear with Alex Ganaza scoring the equalizer. Numerous chances to take the lead followed but the Terenure keeper was having a stormer, making save after save and coming off his line very quickly. Frustrations grew when Terenure then took the lead but the boys never stopped and got a deserved late equaliser through Noah Reid. Despite their best efforts to find a winner, the game finished 2-2.
The squad on the day was Ryan Hughes, Danny MacKeogh, Luke Bolton, Alex Ganaza, Noah Reid, James Wall, Johnny Hussey and Aaron Fahy. Well done to the lads, it was a game we deserved to win but they showed great character to come from behind twice on the day and never let their heads drop"
