On a cold and windy Sunday morning the U10 boys were at home to St John Bosco. Team on the day was Ryan Hughes, James Wall, Danny Mackeogh, Noah Reid, Alex Redmond, Alex Ganaza, Sam Forde and Aaron Fahy.
The game started with the boys playing with a very strong wind, St John Bosco were bigger and taller at every position on the pitch but that didn't put our boys off. The boys started well in the first half with most of the possession, Alex Redmond opening the scoring putting the goal into the back of the net from a great corner kick. After some lovely textbook passing moves Alex G got our second with a clean shot from the right. John Bosco's goal looked to be under siege for a large portion of the first half with Noah Reid slotting the ball by the keeper from a super midfield strike. Our backs were playing a stormer keeping the danger away from Ryan in goal. The first half ended 3-0.
We expected a different game in the second half with the wind against us. John Boscos started strong and made the defense work, they scored first in the second half after a number of good saves by Ryan Hughes who was having a great day both with sharp saves and his delivery of the ball. The boys never dropped their heads and used some nice passing moves to get themselves out of danger. Passing triangles could be easily seen and the boys used the full width of the pitch to their advantage. They looked as strong in defense as they did in attack with the game finishing up in a well deserved 7-3 win with Noah Reid netting a brace and Aaron Fahy scoring a hat trick.
