St Ita's v Portmarnock 0-3
We had an early start to Sunday morning, 10am away to St Ita's. At kick off we looked evenly matched with both teams passing the ball around nicely. Portmarnock took the lead shortly before half time with a well worked goal from Lisa Hughes.
We started the second half strongly, keeping possession and passing well. We added two more goals in the second half, the first coming from Nicole Keenan and the second from Sophie Kehoe.
The real story of the match was the movement both on and off the ball from every single one of the Portmarnock girls, they passed nicely when they had it and pressed hard when they lost it.
Starting with our goalkeeper Emma Hamillton who was quick off her line to collect any through ball. Our defenders Erin Cassidy(C), Kate Mooney, Emma Smith, Kate Gregan and Mollie Reynolds who mopped up every attacking ball then pushed up to support the midfielders.
The midfield/attackers Grace Hollywood, Lisa Hughes, Nicole Keenan, Sophie Kehoe, and Anna Gregan who passed superbly and ran into space to give plenty of shooting options.
Hard luck to St Ita's they have some fantastic players and were unlucky not to score.
Our girl of the match went to Emma Smith for her first half performance in defence, I don't think she let a single ball by her!!
Congrats Emma 🎉🎉🎉
