Giant killing by Portmarnock under 10's
What a weekend up in Paddy’s Hill for the under 10’s section. The Saturday team set the tone with a fantastic win against Home Farm. By all accounts the lads put a huge effort in and all the hard work in training has paid off.
Unfortunately the other Saturday team were unable to continue their great winning streak as their game was called off.
Sunday proved to be a very difficult day up in Paddy’s Hill but the driving rain and high winds didn't stop all three teams getting huge results.
It all started with the first Sunday team playing against Cherry Orchard in a very tight affair. With Portmarnock dominating the second half they got the job done and produced a great win.
The next U10 Sunday team up took on the mighty St. Kevin’s. Both sides played a tightly contested first half but Portmarnock playing with the wind in their backs dominated the second half to deliver the second great result of the day.
It all came down to the final U10’s Sunday team and they didn't disappoint. Marino were next up to complete a fantastic set of results.
This was the closest match of the day and the lads dug deep to get the job done!
Over all this was a fantastic weekend for the club with Home Farm, Cherry Orchard, St. Kevin’s & Marino all leaving Paddy’s Hill empty handed.
Well done to all involved and thank you to all the parents for your great support.

U14’s unlucky to leave Rathcoole with a draw
Portmarnock U14 B1 side travelled out to Rathcoole Boys Saturday and were unlucky to only come away with a 2:2 draw. Playing against the wind and up a slight incline in the first half Portmarnock deservedly went ahead with a well taken goal from Emmet Ryan. Rathcoole Boys, taking advantage of the conditions, got back into the game and equalised but Portmarnock rallied well to go in level at half time.
Portmarnock started a little sluggishly in the second half but as the half progressed began to impose a lot more and take control of the game. Referee awarded a penalty when Cory was taken down inside the box and Callum converted from the spot. Portmarnock were in control of the game at this stage but unfortunately couldn't add to the lead despite the numerous chances and with 5 minutes to go Rathcoole Boys scored a beak away goal to tie the game. Overall Portmarnock deserved the win but the disappointment of a draw is testimony to how well the team have played in recent weeks and are on the up. Big congrats to Emmet and Callum for the first goals of the season.

4:4 Thriller
Portmarnock under 11’s played out a thrilling 4:4 draw against Castleknock Celtic at the weekend. Portmarnock went in at half time 3:1 up with the wind in our favour. The second half saw some great football from both teams. This was our first draw of the season against a very good Castleknock side.
